August 7th, 1998, 2 terrorists drove a bomb carrying van to the rear of the American embassy, detonating a massive explosion, killing 213 people and injuring 5,000.

* Aside from severe damage to the building, the explosion sent debris and glass flying into the streets which claimed the lives of dozens of civilians as they ran to take cover. The carnage also included numerous bus explosions as a result of getting caught in the path of the shooting flames originating from the blast, tragically all passengers were incinerated.

* Another attack would take place on the same day only 450 miles away in Tanzania.
