-During the attack on India’s Golden Temple, 80 soldiers were killed as well as Bhindranwale and over 600 of his militant followers.
-With the storming of the Golden Temple more violent disturbances erupted.
-Four months after the Golden Temple was attacked in Operation Blue Star, India’s Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by two Sikh members of her body guard. Upon her death, her son Rajiv Gandhi became Prime Minister. When Rajiv was killed by a suicide bomber in 1991 his funeral marked the end of an Indian Dynasty.
