Rhinoceros
by Staff EditorA large animal that dates back millions of years to the Miocene era, the rhinoceros has been hunted to the point of near extinction. Today, all but five rhino species are extinct with 90 percent of the decline occurring between 1970 and the present. The remaining species are also in danger of becoming extinct but thanks to increased conservation and wildlife awareness, steps are being taken to ensure their survival and prosperity.
