Mirage 2000
by Staff EditorThe Mirage 2000 looks very similar to the Mirage III/5 and 50 which came before it, but it is not a variant of those planes. Rather it is an entirely new aircraft with advanced interceptor controls and stat-of-the-art avioinics. Its has low-mounted delta wings with clipped tips and a single turbofan engine with a large, single exhaust which protrudes past the tail. In its secondary ground-attack role, the Mirage 2000 carries laser guided missiles rockets and bombs. There is a two-seat version of this aircraft, the 2000N (Penetration) which has nuclear standoff capability. The Mirage 2000 has also been sold to a variety of foreign nations, builing of the many exports of previous Mirage models.
